A muddy Kazakh plain in 1961. In just a couple of weeks, the first man will be sent to space from here. A doctor, Daniel Pokrovsky, who works with the first group of astronauts, experiences several internal conflicts. What do we have control over and when do we lose it and become exposed to the fire as a paper soldier?
